Clubwear/Fashion is undeniably intertwined with tattoo artistry - choosing an outfit for a club, festival, or special event; you might want to show off more skin to reveal a tattoo. Something intimate, personal but above all something that is purely you.

Inspired by simple black linework and large body tattoos, our bold leather bags fit perfectly - especially Geschirrtasche 1 is loved for its seductive looks. Our extravagant bags, otherworldly jewelry, miracle-working mouthpieces, and more highlight your bare skin looks like no other.

We're here for the intrepid darers, fearless pioneers, and exuberant club crawlers. From our years of living in and loving the Berlin nightlife scene, we know how empowering tattoos are.

Tattoos take passion. What's more, is they come at the price of a painful session – that takes guts. But, no matter how big or small, these skin-inked designs make a bold statement of individualism, self-expression, and pure grit – impressive.

The Tattoo-Fashion Connection

A quick fact: around 38% of the world's population has a tattoo. That means for every five people you meet on your travels, 2 of them could be hiding a tattoo. Or not. Maybe they're showing it off for all to see.

'Otzi the Iceman,' presumably having spent his life roaming the snowy Otztal alps 3,300 years ago, was kitted out in 54 tattoos. So who's going to call him an unemployable rebel to his face?

What about the Samoans who've woven their culture, ancestry, and community spirit into the very fibers of their skin. Who's brave enough to call their body art pointless?

Tattoos have been decorative in ancient Egypt, class-based in ancient Rome, and used as a means of communication among spies in Greece. It seems from the very depths of the human soul and psyche comes a deep, unquenchable desire to decorate our bodies.

There must be a reason why as soon as a young child has a pen in hand, they place it against their skin – most of our first tattoos are temporary scribbles. As natural as breathing, we yearn to create and self-express. Some people choose paper, canvases, and walls, while others make use of their skin.

Tattoos are so much more - they are a way to make your body "yours"

Still, the fire within is always the same, no matter the canvas of choice - self-expression, artistic freedom, a visual display of a personal narrative, reminders of spiritual/cultural traditions, identification with a group, or even drunken impulsiveness. The list goes on depending on who you ask.

The Art of Standing Out

And that's why we believe you should wear your tattoos and outfits with pride. MYL BERLIN thinks that, we've had enough of stifled self-expression, silenced stories, and judgemental looks. As lovers of nightlife and the buzzing Berlin club scene, we're used to seeing breath-taking displays of self-expression at night that disappear when the sun rises.

In fact, we feel pretty hard done by that some people are sowing the seeds of self-doubt in others' minds and robbing us of some fantastic body art and daring outfits. So, we've decided that empowerment, inspiration, and more pageantry is the only answer!

Because really, what's nightlife without dazzling jewelry, extravagant bags, a mosaic of tattoos, and a few miracle-working mouthpieces? Why not make the world our club?

We say let the world see the real you with all of your colours and inked lines – it's about time someone set the sidewalks on fire!

About the Cannes Film Festival 2021

The 74th annual Cannes Film Festival is taking place from 6 to 17 July 2021,[1] after having been originally scheduled from 11 to 22 May 2021.[2] In March 2021, American director, and screenwriter Spike Lee was invited to be the head of the jury for the festival for a second time, after the COVID-19 pandemic in France scuttled plans to have him head the jury of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival.[3]

French director Leos Carax's long-awaited musical film Annette was the opening film of the festival.[4] The Official Selection was announced on 3 June 2021.[5] The Honorary Palme d'Or will be awarded to American actress and filmmaker Jodie Foster, and Italian filmmaker Marco Bellocchio.[6][7]

You make it your own; you make it shine.

Our jewelry is not meant to outshine you; it's meant to make you shine. By manufacturing our collection in distinct colors, you can always mix & match our designs in anyways you like. Our designs are sometimes bold and sometimes very sleek - this is because we want you to be able to combine in any way you wish.

Our signature piece, "Halskrause 1," is unique and empowering jewelry like no other - but because it comes in our distinct colors, you can combine and style it any way you like. Whether it's with our sleek "Armreif 1", "Ring 1," or any jewelry you already have, you will be astonished at how versatile our collections are.

Make it your own - it is your look.

Whether you combine our jewelry with a vintage leather jacket, an elegant blazer, or a mesh shirt to hit the club, our uniquely designed designs will fit perfectly to your style.

MYL BERLIN's trending jewelry gets styled by many amazing customers, stylists, celebrities, and models in so many inspirational ways that will amaze you.

There are so many ways to do this because of the matching colors - it's up to you. Whether it is classic (genuine pearl necklace), Perlenkette 1 combined with Perlenkette 2 to create a "layered necklace" look or the bold lip jewelry Mundstück 1 with the minimalistic but striking (jewelry ring) Ring 1.

A clever way to make our collections more sustainable

If you can combine our jewelry so freely, you can wear older collections with our newest trending ones, thus making our jewelry more timeless and sustainable. We chose our material with a lot of care because we focus on longevity, durability, and sustainability.

You will always find a perfect match within our collections; we are trending but never out of style.

For example, we deliberately chose to use the highest quality steel for our Halskrause 1, even if silver, of course, is more "catchy."

Our stainless steel, including the manufacturing process, is more complicated and expensive than using sterling silver.

Sterling silver would not be as bendable, durable enough, and won't last as long as re-enforced stainless steel does. For example, the Halskrause 1 design is unique because you can fit it tightly to your neck; sterling silver would break after bending it several times.

Also, silver would scratch quickly and would not be able to stand the test of time. Our collections are for going out, using, and enjoying them again and again. Sterling silver is fantastic for fixed or very intricate items but would break easily and wear off if used in the wrong way.

Our collections are thoughtfully crafted to last, be timeless, and make you shine. We believe that jewelry and accessories should be something you keep for a long time and enjoy them. The collections should grow with you and match your ever-developing style through time.

I wore this look multiple times when going out in Berlin. It matches the city's dark, techno club culture - my usual companion for those nights is the slightly fetish-y Geschirrtasche 1 (Link). The camouflage pants (H&M) paired with Dr. Martens Boots complete the rugged look. The metal-studded T-shirt is from Love! Moschino (Female).

The Geschirrtasche 1's extremely durable saddle leather protects my belongings, doesn't mind a scratch, drinks, or even a cigarette burn. On top of that, I love that it is in front of me and tightly strapped to my body, it makes it more secure in large crowds, and it doesn't irritate me when dancing for hours - believe me, I tried a lot of bags. The little fetish-y touch because of the harness makes me feel powerful and seductive.

Paired with the Kette 2 (Link), the look is cool, metallic, and a bit secretive as well as Kette 2 shows my support for diversity and subcultures. I usually choose to wear the silver mirror color, but I also wear the matt black one. I love both of them and the way I can combine them with many of my looks.

Especially in the Berlin Club scene, MYL BERLIN has gained a following because of its positive support for artists, diversity, and long-lasting items. Many of the collection, inspired by the club life, have a cheeky subcontext or tongue-in-cheek names which are unique and stand out amongst the many other brands trying to target the nightclub audience.

I am excited to share more of my looks and revisited some of my nightlife inspiration that I hope we can all enjoy again soon!

See you on the dancefloor,

Plantclub.io is a company where you can rent beautiful plants and they even send someone by to take care of them on a regular basis. This is an excerpt from their blog post.

"Here at Plantclub, we take care of the watering (and all the other plant care) to make sure our members’ greenery stays looking its best. We stopped for a chat at the MYL BERLIN office on one of these regular visits, to see how they were enjoying their green workplace.

Founded in 2018 by Sebastian Pladwig, MYL BERLIN is a design label that offers a fresh take on clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Through their sleek and minimalist designs, MYL BERLIN (pronounced Müll, like the German word for trash) celebrates difference. Made from high-quality materials – such as cotton, saddle leather, pearls, and stainless steel – their collection includes masks, mouth jewelry, and bags.

MYL BERLIN vocally champions equality and inclusivity. Here’s what Seb, the Founder and CEO had to say: “At MYL BERLIN we love variety, diversity, and excitement. We live and fight for an open, equal world in which everyone can show themselves and act as they want. Plants are a literal symbol of this naturalness and development.”
